The armature will overcome the pulling force of the return spring and attract towards the iron core under the attraction of electromagnetic force, thereby driving the dynamic contact and static contact (normally open contact) of the armature to close. When the coil loses power, the electromagnetic attraction also disappears, and the armature will return to its original position under the reaction force of the spring, causing the moving contact to engage with the original static contact (normally closed contact). This suction and release achieves the purpose of conduction and disconnection in the circuit. For the "normally open" and "normally closed" contacts of a relay, they can be distinguished as follows: the static contacts that are in a disconnected state when the relay coil is not energized are called "normally open contacts"; The static contact in the connected state is called a "normally closed contact".
In fact, electromagnetic relays can be divided into two types: DC and AC. The distinction is as follows: All AC electromagnetic relays have a copper short-circuit ring embedded in their iron core. And DC relays are not available.
